Kristen Painter The Vampire's True Love Trials
So to be absolutely honest. When I started this, I kinda found myself getting rather agitated. I kept thinking; BUT they just went through so much crap and now they have to proof their love again?!
Add to that the fact that Sebastian actually isn't my favorite character in the series.. and well, it could have been a disaster.
Then suddenly however I found myself completely at a loss that it was all over. Way too soon!
Because while I kinda felt a tad frustration by more trials for Sebastian and Tessa. ( clearly I do like them a lot to feel they were totally slighted by more tests!) I kinda got totally sucked in by the story.
Which is due to wonderful writing style. Great world building. Just as always when it comes to Painter.
This short story has a wonderful fairy tale feel to it. It is set in Paris, the city of love. But Painter did a wonderful job at highlighting the more goth beauty of this city. Beautiful descriptions of some of my favorites places there.
I got all caught up in the mystery and was rooting for them, and beyond pleased with the ending.
Even if it happened way too soon for my taste.
